SINGAPORE – Ms Dana Ho and Mr Marco Placidi’s wedding in August cost less than $5,000, was planned in two weeks, and had a guest list so small their parents did not even make the cut. 

“We told my parents we were just going to do a small thing. They’ll have three other chances, so they’re fine. They are pretty chill about this,” says Ms Ho, 32, a finance operations business partner at streaming service Netflix, who is the third of four daughters.
